Celebrating the life of
Kathleen Lanier Tuten
March 13, 1921 - August 29, 2009
Tybee Island – Kathleen was born in Bulloch County, Georgia, March 13, 1921, and lived most of her life in the Savannah area. Kathleen was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Grover Terrell Tuten, Jr. and adored parents, Laura Byrd Lanier and Alanzo Allen Lanier.
Kathleen retired from the Savannah Pilot Association in 1986. Kathleen always remained busy working, and loved her long involvement with the Tybee Island Bridge Club.
Kathleen is survived by her three children, Ava Laura Moon Robert, Grover Terrell Tuten, III Lynelle, and Lydia Kathleen Laursen Mark. Kathleen has eleven grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Kathleen is also survived by brother, Jack R. Lanier and sister, Lillian McElveen and many loved nieces and nephews.
Kathleen loved her dear family, close friend, Curtis Yeomans and many cherished friends. If a person's worth is measured by friends, she is truly worth millions. She is most remembered by her big smile, sparkling eyes, quick wit and enormous sense of humor. Kathleen loved to cook, play with her grandchildren, tell stories and make you laugh.
Kathleen's family and friends were the pride and joy of her life and would wish for all to remember the good times and the love most honored.

I would like to extend my condolences to ALL 3 of Grandma's Children. I would like to say a special thanks to my mom Kathy Laursen for always being there for Grandma, taking care of her over the last few years and especailly being there to take care of her these last few months when she needed it the most. I would also like to say how nice the funeral service was I really enjoyed reconnecting with family and coming together to celebrate the life of our grandma. I miss you grandma...

Grandma Ava, Terrell, and Lynell, Know that you are in my prayers and that God knows what you are going through. Remember in Matthew 11:28-30; 28Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. Take your feelings of this loss to Jesus and he will give you true serenity. With my love, Joshua Hoskins
